Healthy Kids Day®️ is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. Join us on April 20 for an amazing way for you and your family to get outside and connect with the community.

Summer Camp Registration is Open

Summer camps include day camp, overnight camp, sports camp, specialty camp, preschool camp, and YOLA. With various camps to choose from, there's no doubt you'll find something for your kid to experience this summer.

Youth Sports

Sports can be a positive experience for your child’s mind as well as his or her body. Many positive aspects of psychological growth can result from sports participation, including higher self-esteem, social skills, discipline, and respect for others.

Know. See. Respond. How Are You Taking Action?

Save the dates. April 15-19, the YMCA will participate in the Five Days of Action campaign to increase awareness of child sexual abuse and how all adults can prevent it when we “Know. See. Respond.” We pledge to protect the children we serve, and we hope you will too.

WAVY-TV 10 Coats for Families

WAVY-TV 10 has been collecting and distributing coats around the Hampton Roads area for three decades. YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is excited to team up with WAVY during its annual Coats of Families event. Distribution is open to the public for those in need. There will be a variety of sizes for children and adults.

At the Y, We Prevent Drowning

Michael participated in our Second Grade Learn to Swim program and now can jump into the deep end and swim to the other side of the pool with confidence and knowledge. Thank you to the donors who make this program possible to prevent drowning.

At the Y, We Help Kids Succeed

Leilani was struggling to learn, and had a hard time communicating. Thanks to Leilani's experience at the Y, her family didn’t have to worry about her starting kindergarten.

Teen Leaders Club made an impact and brought out individuality in sisters, Ella, Makayla, and Rebecca. 
 

At the Y, We Help People Grow Healthier in Spirit, Mind, and Body

Atoya started her wellness journey at the Y to lose weight, but realized she was struggling mentally as well as physically. The Y encouraged her to be herself and lose the weight. She's now a group exercise instructor at the Y to help others live a healthy lifestyle.
