Yoga is great for improving relaxation and uniting the spirit, mind and body. Yoga classes may include practicing the poses, instruction on breathing, attention to alignment while stretching and meditation.

Our Yoga classes vary by location. Below is a list of some of the Yoga classes we offer:

Fit Yoga:

Yoga for the fitness enthusiast. This style uses powerful flowing poses designed to increase circulation, promote flexibility, strengthen the body, and increase the mind/body connection.

Intensity Level: Medium

Gentle Yoga:

This is a traditional Hatha Yoga class. The focus of this yoga class is to increase flexibility, connect with the mind, and improve relaxation.

Intensity Level: All

Gentle Yoga for Kids:

Children increase flexibility, connect with the mind, and improve relaxation. Applying techniques at school can benefit kids with better concentration for learning and relaxation during tests.

Intensity Level: All

Paddleboard Yoga:

Float serenely in our pool while performing dozens of different Yoga poses using a stand-up paddleboard. You’ll finish this class refreshed, energized and renewed.

Power Yoga:

This class focuses on the more challenging strength-building poses of yoga to help you take your practice to the next level with the same benefits of traditional yoga.

Intensity Level: Medium/High

Prenatal Yoga:

A Hatha Yoga class designed and executed for the needs of an expecting mother. Positions and holds are similar to traditional yoga, with the precautions suggested by the American Congress of Obstetrics.

Intensity Level: All

YOGA Retreat

Are you looking for a place to rest, relax, and renew your spirit?  There is no better place than at our YMCA Camp Kekoka Yoga Retreat.  It is beautifully located on 97 acres of water front with a view of the Chesapeake Bay.  At night the sky is huge and filled with stars.  Can you feel yourself already beginning to renew?

Each YMCA location creates their own schedule of group exercise classes to offer and classes are rotated to keep workouts new and fresh so members stay engaged with their routines.
