Why Summer Camps at the Y?

YMCA summer camp has the capacity to transform young lives in many ways. Your child will play, explore, learn new skills, and make new friends at the Y this summer. With campers being surrounded by positive role models, natural environments, and our core values, the combination is perfect for enhancing lives and building positive character traits. We look forward to creating life-long memories with your child while they grow in spirit, mind, and body.

Day Camps

Summer camp is for children ages 5 to12 years old. All camps offer weekly sessions from the end of school throughout the summer. YMCA summer camp sparks new possibilities. We create safe environments for kids to unplug, look up, and imagine Y. We encourage campers to use summer programs as a playground to make new friends and explore activities like art, STEM, and culture and travel while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities. We also offer camps for teens 13-15 years old. In these camps, teens are encouraged to develop their social, teamwork, and leadership skills through active participation in community service projects, character development discussions, field trips, games, swimming, and more while enhancing their self-esteem and confidence.

Youth Outdoor Leadership Academy

Youth Outdoor Leadership Academy (YOLA) is a new summer experience for teens to elevate their leadership through outdoor adventure. Participants receive hands-on training and professional development that serves as the foundation of the program. Participants will learn basic safety, group control, team-based games, activity facilitation, outdoor engagement, camp best practices, and more.

Overnight Camps

YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka is the YMCA’s overnight camp. Campers ages 8 to16 experience an outdoor learning adventure. While at Camp Kekoka campers enjoy living in new climate-controlled cabins with nine other campers grouped by age. Each cabin has two highly-trained adult counselors. During the daylight hours, campers enjoy a well-rounded camp experience which includes traditional activities like swimming, arts and crafts, and archery as well as some unique activities like crabbing, fishing, tubing, kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing.
