Virtual Y is our first-ever virtual YMCA. This members-only experience for group exercise classes is filmed LIVE through Zoom. 

Virtual Y is for YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas active members and staff. Virtual Y is included in your membership at no extra cost.

Members will be able to complete their workouts streamed through Zoom. Click on the “login and register” button above to start.

BODYPUMP™: The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts, and curls. Great music and your choice of weight will help and inspire you to get the results you came for fast.

CORE DE FORCE®: Pummel those calories when you take on boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. CORE DE FORCE with this workout. For 3 minutes, you’ll attack boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai combinations. Workouts are broken into 3-minute “rounds” just like a real boxing match. Bodyweight moves and a fat-blasting cardio spike in every round.

MX4: MX4 programming is group training that revolves around the four pillars of functional fitness: cardio, power, strength, and endurance.

POUND®: POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics, and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 400 and 900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique all while rocking out to your favorite music.

SilverSneakers Classic®: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Zumba®: When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring. It’s easy to do, effective, and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.

LES MILLS CORE®- Build your core strength and tone your abs, butt, and legs with CXWORX, a 30-minute workout focused on your core.

INSANITY®- A full-body workout that includes bodyweight and high-intensity intervals both cardio and strength training. Workouts mainly consist of combination exercises.

Currently, Virtual Y classes that are offered are Zumba®, BODYPUMP™, POUND®, SilverSneakers Classic®, MX4, LES MILLS CORE™, CORE DE FORCE™, and yoga.

No. Virtual Y is part of your YMCA of your Virginia Peninsulas membership.

We will keep an eye on feedback from our members on the content they would like to have streamed virtually.

Live streams on Facebook will end on February 12. Check out our other classes streamed through Zoom through the link above.
