Traditional OVERNIGHT Camp

While at Camp Kekoka campers enjoy living in climate-controlled cabins with nine other campers grouped by age. Each cabin has two highly trained adult counselors. During the daylight hours, campers enjoy a well-rounded camp experience which includes traditional activities like swimming, arts and crafts, and archery as well as some unique activities like crabbing, fishing, tubing, kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing.

YMCA Camp Kekoka helps to prepare young people for their future by engaging them in developing life skills. They learn to become leaders for the causes they believe in, to live sustainably, to care for our shared environment, and to live cooperatively in a culturally diverse community. Campers are encouraged to bring costumes or fun things that go along with the theme for their week.

The Y puts the fun back into play. We have high ropes and zip line, gaga ball, arts and crafts, target sports, land sports, orienteering, fire building and outdoor cooking, and drama. Land sports include activities such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, frisbee, baseball, golf, and more.

Our waterfront location offers children a unique daily adventures such as water skiing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, tubing, kneeboarding, swimming (open water and pool) paddle sports (kayaking and canoeing), and sailing.

In order to ensure a safe experience, every camper and staff member must wear an approved life jacket when they are on a dock, swimming in the creek, or on a boat. Certified lifeguards are always on duty at our waterfront and pool.

Camp food that tastes like home

Our Camp Kekoka cooking staff combines healthy meals and food choices to give campers a unique and rewarding food experience. Campers get hands-on experience to pick vegetables and fruit from our camp garden for the fresh salad bar at lunch and dinner.

Camp Kekoka offers cozy cabins and adult supervision

Our newly built cabins feel more like home than sleepaway camp. Each climate-controlled cabin sleeps 10 campers (same age range and sex), and two-well trained staff. Beds are bunk bed style with storage space below; each cabin has two toilets and two sinks. The climate-controlled bathhouse is a short walk from the cabins with male and female sides consisting of 10 individual shower stalls, five toilet stalls, and four sinks.
