Get in the Swim!
The Y is "America's Swim Instructor" and the most accessible community resource to prevent drowning. The fun and community of swimming at the Y encourages a lifelong enjoyment of water exercise. The Y has instruction for swimmers at all levels and all ages. Learn skills that are geared to your personal needs.
Swim Lessons
YMCA swim lessons accommodate students' varying abilities, help foster a sense of achievement, allow swimmers to progress between levels while encouraging swimmers who need more instruction to learn at their own pace. The results are confident swimmers that develop a lifetime love for swimming, including lessons.
Safety Around Water
In Safety Around Water, children learn what to do if they find themselves in the water unexpectedly. Teaching children to be safe around water is just as important as teaching them how to properly cross the street. As an organization dedicated to creating safe spaces for all, the Y has committed to teaching free water safety classes.
Lifeguard Certification
The YMCA offers pre-employment lifeguard certification classes. Upon successful completion, you will have the opportunity to move into the hiring process with the YMCA as a certified lifeguard. The course provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies along with other skills.
Swim Team
The intra-YMCA swim team offers a league that trains for improvement and fosters competitive swimming skills in an environment that promotes the values of caring, honest, respect, and responsibility. Swimmers ages 4 to 18 must be able to swim age-appropriate strokes and distances.
Aquatic Group Exercise
The Y offers a wide variety of water exercise classes. Most water exercise classes are free with your membership.
