What is NextGen-Leaders In Training?
The NextGen Leaders in Training Summer Program is an exciting opportunity for teens to explore various roles within the YMCA, gain valuable leadership skills, and prepare for future career success. Designed as both an internship and a job readiness program, this immersive experience allows participants to work alongside YMCA directors and staff, learning about different areas of operations, from program management to customer service, fitness, and community engagement.
Each week, teens will rotate through different tracks, giving them a comprehensive understanding of the Y’s mission and functions. In addition to the on-site learning, each week includes a fun and educational field trip, providing participants with opportunities to explore local businesses, cultural attractions, and career development events.
