Welcome to Fort Monroe YMCA

The Fort Monroe YMCA is located in an historic antebellum building, built in 1903, and was once a home of the first Armed Services YMCA in the Country, established in 1889. The YMCA is proud to restore the YMCA in Fort Monroe as part of the revitalization of this community.

  • What inspired you to join the YMCA community?

I was drawn to the YMCA because of its deep-rooted mission to serve and uplift communities. I’ve always been passionate about creating spaces where people feel supported and empowered, and the Y’s focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility aligned perfectly with my values.

  • What are some of your most significant accomplishments at the YMCA?

One of my proudest accomplishments has been expanding our outreach efforts to serve underserved families in our area better. I’ve also worked closely with our team to enhance member engagement and introduce new wellness programs that meet the evolving needs of our community.

  • What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I love hiking and exploring nature trails with my family and friends. I also enjoy relaxing at home with my dog.

Give to the Y

When you give to the Y, you support programs and services that help kids succeed, prevent drowning, prepare teens for life and help people grow healthier in spirit, mind, and body. The Y is needed now more than ever to meet the evolving needs of our community.
