This August, prepare for an adventure as the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas, the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, and the Virginia Zoo team up for a membership swap. This unique partnership allows members of both organizations to experience the best of both worlds. Whether you are an animal lover or trying to start your health and wellness journey, something is in store for you.
Y Members Visiting The Virginia Zoo
Y members will enjoy free, unlimited admission to the Virginia Zoo during August, plus 10 percent discounts in the gift shop and food service locations. Discounts are not valid for special events and education programs.
To visit the zoo, simply go to the zoo and show the email we sent you OR a member verification form (available at any YMCA Welcome Center) along with a photo ID and your membership card (key tag or app) at the zoo entrance, in the gift shop, and at food service locations.
YMCA members who join the Virginia Zoo during August can take advantage of two extra months – free – on a Virginia Zoo membership.

Virginia Zoo members can also take advantage of this opportunity. Show your Virginia Zoo membership card at any of the 14 Virginia Peninsulas locations or 21 South Hampton Roads locations. Enjoy complimentary access to state-of-the-art fitness facilities, various group exercise classes, and child care while you work out. It's a perfect chance to try a new fitness routine or participate in one of our many family-friendly activities.
Zoo members who join the Y in August will pay no join fee, a savings of up to $100.
