Alexis Robinson, Fort Monroe YMCA Membership Support Representative

Introducing Alexis Robinson, the YMCA's newest Membership Support Representative with the specialized Membership Support Team at Fort Monroe YMCA. Alexis's superpower is her ability to swiftly and professionally tend to members, staff, and community inquiries swiftly and professionally. Alexis spends her workday answering calls to provide association information. Never knowing what a caller may request keeps Alexis on her toes and enjoying her work with the dedicated Membership Support Team. Before her new position, Alexis worked at the Tom & Ann Hunnicutt and R.F. Wilkinson Family YMCAs as the Membership Experience Coordinator. 

When she's not at the Fort, Alexis is an avid writer and photographer and loves spending time with her precious one-year-old daughter.

Samone Solomon, Child Care Director for the Luter Family YMCA

Samone's duties include coordinating off-site child care at various area elementary schools and the Luter Family YMCA. Her efforts ensure that the partnership between the school system and the Luter Family YMCA represents a safe and nurturing experience for youth and their families. Her goal is to develop productive future leaders by providing positive experiences and support. Samone is married and has a 10-year-old daughter.

Shatea Ortiz, the Victory Family YMCA Associate Membership Experience Director

Shatea has served members at the Victory Family YMCA for over a year. Shatea believes the Y is her calling and is excited to fulfill her passion for helping people. In her interactions with members and staff, Shatea builds positive relationships while ensuring the Victory Family YMCA membership team reaches its goals. Shatea is a native of New York. However, she now feels like she has found a home at the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas.

LA Allen, Sports Program Director at the Greater West Point Family YMCA

In his five years with the association, LA has served in various positions as a Camp Counselor, Wellness Coach, Personal Trainer, and Sports Coordinator. Everyone who encounters LA notes his dedication to promoting the programs and services at the Greater West Point Family YMCA. His enthusiasm for being a part of the association has enhanced the members’ experience and strengthened the staff. 

LA strongly believes it's important to give back to the community and be a positive example for its youth. He strives to be a productive member of his community. His roots are in West Point, where he was born and raised. LA's career goal for the future includes assisting the association with expanding programming and creating opportunities for the YMCA at Greater West Point to grow.
